Southwest Florida International Airport is a county-owned airport in the South Fort Myers region of unincorporated Lee County, Florida. RSW served more than 7.9 million passengers in 2014, and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. Located in Fort Myers, the airport is perfectly positioned to serve the greater Southwest Florida area, including Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sanibel, Captiva, Greater Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades, Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf Islands as well as other points along Florida's Gulf Coast. Visitors can go from bag claim to beach in under 30 minutes. With quick access to Interstate 75 and U.S. 41, travelers will find that the airport's location puts all the attractions of the region within easy driving distance.
The JW Group personnel was responsible for the development of a Local Area Network (LAN) and corresponding cabling infrastructure in support of a new Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Included in the scope of work was the development of a Basis of Design, Design Development, and Construction documentation detailing the equipment’s specifications, infrastructure and network drawings, rack elevations, cost estimates, implementation phasing plans, and project control methodologies (e.g. QA/QC, submittals, testing). Finally The JW Group was engaged to provide construction administration of the implementation of LAN and associated cabling infrastructure to oversee the conformance with the contract documents and providing subject matter expertise in order to approve submittals and testing results.
The JW Group personnel was responsible for the development of a PCI compliant Local Area Network (LAN) design and corresponding drawings, specifications, procurement documentation, and finally construction administration. The Lee County Port Authority (LCPA) had recently implemented a new LAN to support its new FIDS. The PCI LAN project design will expand this new LAN (also designed by JWG) to include systems subject to PCI compliance such as the Airport’s Common Use Passenger Processing and Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems.
