Project Common Use Passenger Processing Planning
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is a Class B international airport in Houston, Texas serving the Greater Houston metropolitan area, the fifth-largest metropolitan area in the United States. Located about 23 miles north of Downtown Houston, between Interstate 45 and Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59. George Bush Intercontinental Airport has scheduled flights to domestic and international destinations. The airport is named after George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. It is the largest passenger carrying hub for United Airlines carrying 16.6 million passengers annually with an average of 45,413 passengers daily.
Project Description
The JW Group personnel was responsible for the development of a Common Use Analysis document focusing on Terminals A and D of IAH. Included in the analysis document was existing conditions of the Airport’s facilities, capacity analysis of the terminals’ resources to determine the feasibility of an expanded Common Use implementation, an implementation plan, and an outline of recommended policies and procedures for Houston Airport System (HAS) to adopt in support of expanded Common Use. Additionally, the JW Group personnel presented the Common Use Analysis document’s findings to the Terminal A and D airlines.
